Marriage Therapy

Seeking therapy for your marriage or partnership can be a challenging process. Many people are afraid of feeling exposed or judged. I work to alleviate these concerns and to provide a safe space for people to be themselves.  Our initial session will quickly provide you with a personal sense of me and my method of working with couples. The consistent feedback I get is that my style is direct and non-mysterious. I use a systemic approach where we focus more on being aware of our emotional needs and less on blaming each other for unmet needs. By expressing ourselves in an open and vulnerable manner, we invite our partners to come toward us with their caring and curiosity. When these vulnerabilities interlock, I help each person feel understood and validated. We learn how to express these feelings in ways that build trust and motivation for deepening the connection.
